The Madonna dei Rimedi church stands on Piazza Indipendenza with a facade featuring statues of Santa Teresa of Avila and Saint Joseph with young Jesus.
After Norman troops conquered Palermo in 1064, Roger I of Sicily established a small church on this site in 1072 following reported encounters with poisonous spiders.
The church displays numerous artworks, including the Transverberation of Santa Teresa by Rosalia Novelli and multiple altarpieces created by Pietro Novelli.
Located 1.6 kilometers from Palermo Centrale station, the church is accessible via bus lines 104, 108, 109, 110, 118, 309, and 327 at Indipendenza-Pisani stop.
The structure underwent transformation into military barracks and stables in 1866 before returning to religious use through Cardinal Ernesto Ruffini's efforts in 1950.
