The Kagawa Museum features two main exhibition wings dedicated to regional artifacts and contemporary artworks across multiple floors in a modern building.
The museum emerged from the merger of the Kagawa Prefectural History Museum and the art section of Kagawa Cultural Hall in April 2008.
The permanent collection includes traditional local crafts, historical documents, and rotating exhibitions focusing on the Genpei War and regional artistic movements.
Located 900 meters east of JR Takamatsu Station, the museum operates daily from 9:00 to 17:00, with extended hours until 19:30 on Fridays during special exhibitions.
The museum organizes hands-on workshops about regional food traditions and hosts interactive sessions exploring the artistic legacy of sculptor Isamu Noguchi.
