Grinpa, Amusement park in Susono, Japan
Grinpa is an entertainment complex on the southern slope of Mount Fuji that combines several themed zones with family attractions. The grounds include a Sylvanian Families village setting, an Ultraman area, and a toy factory zone with rides and interactive spaces.
The facility opened in April 1973 as one of the early family attractions in Shizuoka Prefecture. Over the decades, new themed sections were added, including licensed areas featuring Japanese characters.
The Sylvanian Families miniature displays recreate scenes with the popular Japanese toy characters, drawing children from across the country. In the Ultraman zone, Japanese visitors instantly recognize heroes from the television series, while international guests discover local pop culture.
The park sits along the Tomei Expressway with exits at Gotemba, Susono, or Fuji and offers parking for hundreds of vehicles. On clear days, outdoor attractions are easily accessible, while the indoor maze and toy exhibits can be visited in any weather.
A covered area displays over one thousand Tomica miniature vehicles in dioramas and collection cases. The indoor maze ranks among the largest of its kind in Japan and includes numerous play stations across multiple levels.
