Sahoro Resort Bear Mountain

The park extends across natural woodland where brown bears roam within a protected environment observed from elevated walkways and specialized viewing points.

Established in April 2006, this wildlife facility emerged as Japan's first bear safari park to protect and study three distinct DNA lineages of brown bears.

The installation reflects Japanese expertise in creating controlled wildlife encounters while maintaining respectful distance between visitors and animals.

Visitors access the park through a 370-meter elevated walkway and can join guided bus tours between April and October, with final admission at 15:20.

The Bear Point observation area positions visitors behind reinforced glass just 4 centimeters away from where bears frequently gather and swim.
