Shikoku Railway Cultural Center, Railway museum in Saijo, Japan
The museum comprises a north and south building featuring six full-size trains, including the first-generation Shinkansen and vintage diesel locomotives on display.
The Shikoku Railway Cultural Center opened its doors on November 26, 2007, establishing itself as the first dedicated railway museum in the Shikoku region.
The museum celebrates the legacy of Shinji Sogo, known as the father of the Shinkansen, through exhibits showcasing Japanese railway technology development.
The facility operates from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, charges 300 yen for adults and 100 yen for students, and remains closed on Wednesdays except during holidays.
Visitors can access train cockpits and passenger cars while exploring a large-scale diorama depicting railway landscapes across all four Shikoku prefectures.
