Kvēpenes dižozols, Ancient oak tree near Cēsis, Latvia.
The Kvēpenes oak stands 20 meters tall with a circumference of 6.18 meters and a crown projection spanning 28 by 30 meters.
After the destruction of Kalnalkšņu oak, this tree became the largest specimen in Gauja National Park, marking a significant change in natural landmarks.
Local folk traditions indicate that people made offerings at this tree, placing money near its roots according to regional customs.
Visitors can reach the oak by following marked trails from Cēsis, with the tourism office providing detailed maps and guidance Tuesday through Saturday.
An underground passage reportedly started beneath this oak, connecting to Kvēpenes Castle and serving as a food supply route during 13th-century sieges.
