Museum of Water – Bay of Bones, Archaeological museum on Lake Ohrid, North Macedonia.

The Museum of Water features reconstructed wooden dwellings standing on stilts above Lake Ohrid, showcasing ancient settlement structures and archaeological findings.

Excavations between 1997 and 2005 revealed 6000 wooden piles from a Late Bronze Age settlement, situated 3 to 5 meters beneath the water surface.

The museum exhibits numerous artifacts including ceramic vessels, stone tools, and animal bones that illustrate daily life in prehistoric lakeside communities.

Located 16 kilometers from Ohrid, the museum maintains seasonal hours, opening from 9:00 to 15:30 in winter and extending to 20:00 during summer months.

Visitors walk on elevated wooden platforms around 24 reconstructed prehistoric houses, examining authentic dwelling spaces while suspended above Lake Ohrid.
