Ujazdów Castle

Ujazdów Castle is a Baroque structure standing on a hill near the Vistula River, featuring four corner towers flanking a rectangular courtyard with symmetrical wings. Today it operates as a cultural venue with a cinema, restaurant, and specialized art library within its walls.

Matteo Castelli designed this structure in 1624, replacing an earlier wooden manor that once belonged to Queen Bona Sforza. The building subsequently underwent major transformations in its use and purpose over the centuries.

The castle now houses a centre for contemporary art that presents works by Polish and international creators throughout the year. You can experience how this historic structure serves as an active gallery space today.
