Zasanie Synagogue

The Zasanie Synagogue stands on the western bank of the San River and displays a Baroque Revival design with geometric forms and architectural details typical of that era. The structure combines religious function with careful attention to its overall appearance.

The building was constructed between 1892 and 1909 as a synagogue and served the religious community until 1939. After the start of World War II, it was repurposed and lost its original religious function.

The synagogue comes from a period when Przemysl's Jewish community actively shaped local life across many sectors. The building itself reflects the religious practices and daily rhythms of that community.

The building is located at Plac Unii Brzeskiej 6 and is not currently open for visitors. Viewing requires observing from outside or checking beforehand about any access possibilities.

This was the only Jewish house of worship built on the western side of the San River, while other community buildings stood on the opposite bank. Its location across the river distinguished it from other religious facilities in town.
