Skałki

Skałki is a mountain summit in the Beskid Żywiecki range, featuring steep forested slopes that rise through mixed woodland. Rock outcrops become more visible higher up, creating a varied terrain as you gain elevation.

This summit lies along the Main Beskid Trail, a major walking route established in the early 20th century through the southern Polish mountains. The trail system connected remote highland areas and enabled better access to the range.

Local mountain guides maintain traditional hiking routes through Skałki, connecting various mountain shelters that serve regional Polish highland dishes.

Marked trails approach the summit from several directions, with most routes taking between 2 and 4 hours from their starting points. Weather can change quickly in the mountains, so bringing waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear is important.

On clear days, visitors can see two of the highest peaks in the range from this summit, Babia Góra and Pilsko, visible across the mountain landscape. This view helps hikers understand the geography of the entire area.
