Metropolitan, Warsaw, Office building in Pilsudski Square, Warsaw, Poland
The Metropolitan is an office building in Warsaw with three independent sections, each with separate entrances and utility systems. The structure spans seven floors and provides over 33,000 square meters of office space, plus retail areas and parking.
The building was completed in 2003 under architect Norman Foster's direction. It set new standards for office buildings in the Polish market.
The building stands in a location of great importance to Warsaw, next to the National Opera and the university. Its modern design creates a dialogue between the historic square and contemporary architecture.
The site is easily accessible and offers ample parking beneath the building for visitors and employees. The design with separate entrances allows flexible access to different sections.
The facades feature decorative granite and combine glass with solid elements for a distinctive look. An electronically controlled fountain in the inner courtyard shapes the outdoor space.
