Buildings of former Schaffgotsch estate administration in Jelenia Góra - Sobieszów

The former Schaffgotsch administration complex consists of multiple buildings with classical features, including symmetrical windows and balanced proportions. The structures are arranged to reflect the different functions needed to manage the estate and its operations.

The Schaffgotsch family built this administration center to manage their large landholdings across Silesia. The complex developed during the 1800s as part of their comprehensive system for overseeing economic operations.

The buildings show how noble families ran their large properties in Silesia, with separate structures for different tasks. Visitors can still see today how these arrangements organized daily work for the administrators and staff.

The main palace now houses a secondary school, and other structures contain shops and apartments, so not all areas are freely accessible. Exploring the outer spaces and preserved historical facades helps understand the layout and original organization of the estate.

One of the buildings was originally a grain storage and is now used as a shop, but it keeps its old exterior. This adaptive reuse shows how these spaces have adjusted to new purposes while keeping their historical appearance.
