Pałac w Sośnicowicach

The palace in Sośnicowice is a brick building with Regency and early Rococo styling, displaying ornamental work both on its facade and inside various rooms. The structure features a classic palace layout with symmetrical facades and decorative elements that reflect its role as a noble residence.

Construction began in 1755 under Karl Joseph von Hoditz and used the foundations of a medieval fortress that had previously stood on this location. This shift from medieval fortress to Baroque palace marked how the site transformed into a center of noble power.

The rooms showcase refined tastes of 18th-century Silesian nobility through their preserved Regency and early Rococo ornamental details. These decorative choices reflect how the region's wealthiest families wanted their homes to appear and feel.

The building has housed a social welfare home since 1965, which means the interior is not open to public visitors. You can walk around the exterior and appreciate the architecture and decorative details on the facade from the outside.

The building layers together elements from three different periods: medieval foundations, Baroque construction, and Regency interior finishes. This combination reveals how different architectural styles were layered onto the same site over two centuries.
