Castle park in Żywiec

Castle Park in Zywiec is a large green space in the city center with old trees and wide paths that pass by the Old Castle and the Habsburg Palace. The grounds connect various building complexes and provide space to walk between the historic structures.

The park began in 1712 as a French garden and was later reshaped into an English landscape style. This transformation reflects how garden design preferences changed in Europe over several centuries.

The park grounds house the Museum of Hunting and Carriages in former stable buildings, where visitors can explore exhibitions about local history. These collections show how people in the region lived and worked in earlier times.

The park is open from sunrise to sunset and entry is free, with parking available at the Vitos Street entrance. It is best visited during good weather to fully enjoy the trees and paths.

Within the park grounds stands a Chinese Lodge that serves as a center for promoting local culture. Tea ceremonies and demonstrations of regional craftsmanship traditions take place here.
