Kremliovskiy Park, Public park near Novgorod Kremlin, Russia
The Kremlin Park extends over 25 hectares, surrounding the Novgorod Kremlin fortress with paths, gardens, and recreational areas along defensive walls.
French prisoners of war established the park in 1812 on the site of former fortifications dating back to the time of Ivan the Terrible.
The park contains multiple monuments, including a Victory Monument, statues of Lenin and Rachmaninoff, and the Sadko Fountain for public gatherings.
The park offers amusement rides operating daily from 11:00 to 20:00, with numerous benches and walking paths circling the ancient Kremlin walls.
During World War II, occupying forces cut down all trees for heating, leading citizens to replant the entire park area after liberation in 1946.
