Городская усадьба И. Л. Силкина

The Silkin Urban Manor is a two-story residence with a symmetrical facade decorated with detailed stone ornaments. The building preserves its original floor plan and features a stone entrance vestibule added during the later construction phase.

The building was constructed in the early 1800s and underwent major renovation from 1888 to 1891 by architect A.V. Petrov. This redesign transformed it into the structure we see today with its distinctive stone elements.

The manor reflects how Moscow's merchant class built and decorated their homes during this period. Its stone ornaments and balanced layout show the tastes of wealthy traders.

The estate is situated at 27 Tovarishchesky Lane and is protected as a heritage site. Interior visits require advance notice and scheduling, as the building is not open for casual drop-by visits.

The building retains its original interior layout from 1893, making it a rare example of preserved spatial arrangement from that era. This originality is particularly valuable since many similar period houses were later modified.
