Jurgenson Mansion

The Jurgenson Mansion is a residential building in the Basmanny District built with classical features like large windows, stone details, and symmetrical proportions across its facade. The structure displays multiple floors with a clear, orderly design that shows the building methods of that era.

The building was constructed in 1912 during a period when wealthy merchants were building grand residences throughout Moscow. This era marked rapid urban growth and prosperity before major upheaval transformed the country.

The location is near Kitay-gorod metro station, and from there you can walk north toward the building through Kolpachny Lane. The walk takes just a few minutes and is straightforward to navigate.

The interior spaces still preserve wooden staircases, ceiling moldings, and floor patterns from the 1910s that were typical of Russian craftsmanship of that time. These original elements are rarely kept so completely intact, showing the quality of workmanship that went into the building.
