The structure features white brick walls, regularly spaced windows, and restrained architectural design with modest decorative elements around the facade and roof.
The building was constructed in 1884 according to designs by architect August Weber and housed Russia's first factory for optical and medical instruments. Throughout the 20th century, its function changed multiple times as it served various government agencies and institutions.
The building's name comes from merchant Egor Tryndin, who purchased the property in the early 1800s and established his manufacturing business here. The structure served both as a workplace and residence, with shops and workshops on lower floors and apartments above, creating a mixed-use community space.
The building is located on Bolshaya Lubyanka Street in a central area and is easily accessible on foot or by public transportation. The exterior architecture can be viewed from the street, with decorative brickwork and window details clearly visible from ground level.
An early astronomical observatory once operated on the building's roof, allowing scientists to study stars and planets with a view of the entire city below. Though the observatory closed long ago, its presence marked this location as an important center for Moscow's scientific research during the early 20th century.
