Хой

Khoy is a stone tower rising from mountainous terrain, built with narrow windows and thick walls for protection against external threats. This structure was designed to control the surrounding territories and defend the lands of local noble families.

The tower was built during the Middle Ages and served as a strategic fortification for noble Chechen families. It played an important role in controlling and protecting the surrounding mountain regions during that era.

The structure displays traditional Vainakh architecture with carved symbols and geometric patterns visible on its walls, reflecting ancient Chechen building techniques. These handcrafted details speak to the skill of the builders who constructed it.

The site is located near Khoy village and requires careful navigation through mountain roads to reach it. It is advisable to check with local authorities beforehand and arrange local guidance to ensure a safe visit.

The structure contains original defensive features such as arrow slots and observation points that remain well preserved. Inside, stone ladders connect different levels, revealing the practical design of the defensive layout.
