The granite monument features a bronze naval flag, ship emblem, and anchor, commemorating young naval cadets who trained at the Solovki Naval School.
The memorial was erected in 1972 during the first reunion of Solovki Naval School graduates, marking 30 years since the establishment of their training program.
Veterans of the Solovki Naval School gather at the monument every five years to place flowers and wreaths in memory of their fallen comrades.
The monument stands on a platform enclosed by anchor chains mounted on concrete posts, with a dedication plaque listing the names of fallen cadets.
This memorial became the first monument in the Soviet Union dedicated to the Solovki naval cadets who perished during World War II.
