The Volga-Ural Military District headquarters consists of multiple buildings forming a complete block between Lenin Avenue, Kuznechnaya Street, Pervomayskaya Street, and Bazhov Street.
Built between 1937 and 1940, the complex became the command center for various military districts, including the Ural Military District and Central Military District.
The architecture exhibits Stalinist Empire style with Doric columns, granite blocks, and a central facade featuring a six-column portico supported by an arcade.
The facility includes administrative buildings, residential houses, a dining hall, and a sports club, connected through functional passages and common architectural elements.
Marshal Georgy Zhukov, a renowned World War II commander, served as the head of the Ural Military District in this complex from 1948 to 1953.
