Глухово, Manor estate in Noginsk, Russia
Glukhovo is a manor estate situated on the banks of Chernogolovsky Pond, featuring a single-story building designed in the late Moscow Art Nouveau style. The structure displays the architectural details and interior layout typical of early 20th-century Russian country homes.
The estate originated in 1672 when Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich Romanov granted the lands to the Zherebtsov family through official charter. Over time it passed to the Morozov family, wealthy industrialists who modernized and expanded the property.
The mansion reflects how the Morozov family lived, with rooms arranged to show their daily routines and the objects that filled their home during Moscow's industrial boom. Walking through, you notice how their wealth shaped every detail of the interior.
The estate is accessible by electric train from Kursky Station to Zakharovo Station, with a short walk from the station to the grounds. Comfortable shoes are recommended since exploring the building and surrounding area takes time.
The restoration completed in 2016-2017 required an unusually large team of skilled craftspeople, from stonemasons to specialists in traditional Russian stove construction. This collaborative effort preserved traditional building techniques that might have been lost.
