Сосновый бор острова Ягры

The pine forest on Yagry Island is a large protected woodland area along the White Sea coast, combining dense stands of pine and birch trees. The forest supports a variety of animal and plant life within its boundaries.

This forest received official protection in 2002 to preserve the natural environment of the Severodvinsk region. The designation reflected growing efforts to safeguard the coastal ecosystem along the White Sea.

Local residents gather mushrooms and berries here as part of their connection to the forest, a practice woven into daily life while respecting the protected status. This traditional activity shows how communities interact with the natural environment around them.

The forest is accessible through marked trails and pathways that guide visitors through different areas. You can walk at your own pace, use designated picnic areas, and observe wildlife throughout the woodland.

Large portions of this woodland consist of pine stands mixed with bilberry and lingonberry vegetation, creating distinctive forest composition. These particular plant combinations are what give the area its ecological character.
