Abdullah Ibn Abbas Mosque, Ta'if

The Abdullah Ibn Abbas Mosque features white minarets and domes, with a rectangular prayer hall accommodating hundreds of worshippers at once.

The mosque stands on the site of a former temple to the goddess al-Lat, which was converted to an Islamic place of worship in 630.

The mosque holds the tomb of Abdullah Ibn Abbas, who narrated over 1600 hadiths and became a central figure in Quranic interpretation.

The mosque opens daily for five prayer times and includes separate prayer areas for men and women, with ablution facilities available.

During Ibn Abbas's funeral in 687, witnesses reported seeing an unidentified white bird circle the burial site before disappearing.
