Statarmuseet i Skåne, Working life museum in Bara, Sweden
Statarmuseet in Svedala is a museum about the lives of agricultural workers in southern Sweden. It displays tools, photographs, and personal objects that document their everyday experiences from past centuries.
The museum was established in 1995 from a project aimed at documenting the lives of agricultural workers. The main building dates from 1886 and originally served as a residence for farm laborers.
The museum preserves stories of people who lived and worked on farms throughout the region. Visitors can see how these workers furnished their homes and organized their daily lives.
The building is easy to reach on foot and has simple facilities like a cafe, bookstore, and shaded areas for resting. Most visitors need about two to three hours to explore the exhibits thoroughly.
Six preserved apartments in a long building show different time periods of how farm workers lived. These rooms give a direct impression of how cramped and simple housing conditions were in earlier generations.
