Drotten church ruin, Medieval church ruin in central Lund, Sweden.
The stone structure extends 50 meters in length with foundations revealing both a stone church and an earlier wooden construction beneath.
Danish king Sweyn Forkbeard constructed the original wooden church around 990, establishing the first religious building in the Skåne region.
The church transformed from a parish center to a Premonstratensian monastery in 1150, reflecting the evolving religious practices of medieval Scandinavia.
The archaeological museum built around the ruins offers free admission and educational resources about the medieval religious architecture.
Excavations in the 1970s uncovered multiple construction phases, including the remains of both parish church and monastery structures in the same location.
