Drotten church ruin

Drotten church is a medieval ruin in central Lund featuring exposed stone foundations that reveal layers of earlier construction beneath. The remains show distinct building phases, with archaeological work revealing how structures were rebuilt and repurposed over time.

A wooden church was built here around 990, making it one of the earliest places of worship in the region. The site later transformed into a stone structure and became a monastery, serving as a major religious center for centuries.
