Tvetabergs säteri

Tvetabergs säteri is a 17th-century manor house in Södertälje with yellow wood paneling and light gray decorative details. The building contains approximately twenty rooms, a kitchen, and features a high metal-roofed ceiling.

The estate was founded in the late 1600s by Catharina Lenström and Erik Lovisin and remained in their family through the late 1700s. Baron Fredrik Hierta later acquired it and shaped its subsequent history.

The grounds hold ancient burial fields near the main building, evidence of continuous human presence across many centuries. These remains show how the site has held meaning for people from prehistoric times onward.

The agricultural land is currently leased to Södertälje Municipality for grain and oilseed cultivation. The grounds are accessible and offer a clear view of how the estate lands are actively used today.

A devastating fire in 1986 destroyed nearly everything, but the building was completely reconstructed and reopened within the same year. This rapid restoration reflects a strong commitment to saving the house.
