Lipica Stud Farm

Lipica Stud Farm is a large horse breeding estate near Sežana that spreads across extensive grounds with pastures and traditional stables. The facility raises and maintains the distinctive white Lipizzan horses through careful breeding practices.

The stud was founded in the late 1500s and began operations with horses brought from southern Europe. Over the centuries, it developed into one of the most important breeding facilities for this particular horse breed.

The farm preserves breeding practices that have been passed down through generations, showing how these horses have been developed over centuries. You can see today how handlers work with the horses using methods that have remained largely unchanged.
