Vilenica Cave, Show cave and archaeological site near Lokev, Slovenia
The underground system extends 1,300 meters in length and reaches 180 meters in depth, with numerous limestone formations throughout the passages.
The cave started welcoming visitors in 1633 under Count Petazzi's guidance, making it the first documented show cave operation in Europe.
The Vilenica International Literary Festival takes place annually in September, featuring the presentation of literature prizes in the Dance Hall chamber.
The temperature inside remains at 6 degrees Celsius year-round, with guided tours covering 450 meters of passages over approximately 60 minutes.
The Hall of Fairies contains a massive stalagmite measuring 20 meters in height with a base circumference of 10 meters.
