Park kultúry a oddychu, Cultural center in Old Town, Bratislava, Slovakia.
Park kultúry a oddychu was a building complex along the Danube riverbank in Bratislava's Old Town, featuring a main hall, exhibition spaces, and observation facilities. The structure extended along the water's edge and housed multiple cultural activities in one location.
The complex was designed by architects Pavol Andrik, Kamil Gross, and Ján Štefanec, opening in 1954. It remained operational until 2010 before being demolished in 2016.
The entrance featured stained glass windows by Janko Alexy and marble floors, while sculptures by Tibor Bártfay decorated the main building. These artworks were part of the daily experience for all visitors.
The venue hosted concerts, exhibitions, dance classes, graduation ceremonies, and television recordings in Bratislava. Visitors could attend various events at this central location along the Danube.
The complex housed an astronomical section for observing the night sky, the only such facility in Bratislava until its closure. This observation facility made the location a special destination for those interested in science and space.
