Lesnícky skanzen Vydrovo

The Lesnícky skanzen Vydrovo is an open-air forest museum spread along a walking trail through Vydrovska Valley, displaying exhibits about forestry and woodland work. The route passes by traditional buildings, tools, and equipment that document how forests were managed in this area.

The museum was founded in 2002 to preserve traditional forestry practices from the mountains of this region. Since then it has been showing how people worked in the forests over many generations.

The wooden buildings show how forest workers lived and worked in this region long ago. You can see a forester's house, a small chapel, and simple shelters that reflect the daily life of these people.

The museum is best reached by the small forest railway that runs from Hronec or Čierny Balog. Parking is available near the main building.

The museum combines forestry tools with art installations created by international artists specifically for this place. This blend of history and modern art makes a visit special.
