Klenovský Vepor, Mountain peak in central Slovakia
Klenovský Vepor is a mountain in central Slovakia standing at approximately 1340 meters. Its slopes are covered by dense forests and open meadows, with rocky outcrops breaking through the vegetation.
The mountain was formed from volcanic lava flows during the Miocene epoch, separated by erosion over time. These pyroxenic andesites originated from a volcanic center near Tisovec.
The mountain stands as a central geographic marker for local inhabitants, connecting communities across both the Brezno and Rimavská Sobota districts of Slovakia.
Well-marked hiking trails climb the mountain from several directions, starting from nearby settlements and mountain passes. Visitors can choose from different route options that vary in length and difficulty.
The mountain serves as a natural water divide, directing rainfall toward different river systems. Western slopes feed the Hron River through small tributaries, while eastern sections drain toward the Rimava.
