Nimule National Park

Nimule National Park encompasses 410 square kilometers of savanna woodland, rolling hills, and dense forest areas along the White Nile River at 640 meters elevation.

The national park, established in 1954 near the Uganda border, represents one of South Sudan's first environmental conservation initiatives after gaining independence.

Local tribes maintain traditional connections with the park's environment through their daily practices, knowledge of medicinal plants, and sustainable resource management.

Visitors require official permits and should arrange transportation in advance, as access to the park involves coordinating with local authorities and guides.

The White Nile forms the eastern boundary for 48 kilometers, creating habitats for elephants, buffalos, and numerous bird species within the protected area.
