Antakya Synagogue, Former synagogue in Kurtuluş Street, Antakya, Turkey

The synagogue building features a marble floor, blue curtains with golden inscriptions, and the Torah Ark positioned on its southern wall.

Built in 1890, the synagogue served one of the oldest Jewish communities dating back 2,300 years until severe damage from the 2023 earthquakes.

The synagogue stands across from a mosque and Catholic church, reflecting the religious diversity that characterized Antakya through centuries.

The building remained active until 2023, when the remaining 14 members of the Jewish community were evacuated following the earthquakes.

The Torah Ark placement in a semi-circular apse considers the geographical position north of Jerusalem, following traditional Jewish architectural principles.
