Presidential and Vice-Presidential Artifacts Museum, Academia Historica

Presidential and Vice-Presidential Artifacts Museum, Academia Historica, Presidential museum in Zhongzheng District, Taiwan

The Presidential and Vice-Presidential Artifacts Museum displays collections and archival materials from different administrations in Taipei. The exhibition includes furniture, artworks, and a digital reading room with over 1,100 publications related to this subject.

The building was completed in 1924 and originally served as a Communications Bureau during Japanese occupation. Architect Matsunosuke Moriyama designed the structure with modern features characteristic of that period.

The museum holds personal objects and artwork that reflect the lives of presidents and vice-presidents across different eras. You can see how these leaders lived and worked through the furniture, paintings, and everyday items on display.

The museum is located near Ximen Station on the Taipei Metro and is open Monday through Saturday from 09:30 to 17:00. Visitors should know that weekends can be busier, and digital resources are available to explore on site.

The building features elevators and fire-protection systems from the 1920s that were pioneering for their era. These early safety features show how advanced the architecture was at the start of the 20th century.
