Jantzen's mansion is a two-story brick building with rectangular windows, ornate cornices, and traditional design elements from the 19th century. The structure now houses the Orikhiv City Council at 11 Shevchenko Street, though it sustained damage during military conflict in 2022.
Heinrich Jantzen, a German Mennonite, built this estate in the 1870s and served as Orikhiv's first mayor from 1874 to 1899. His family and fellow settlers played a major role in developing the town's economy and social infrastructure.
The mansion reflects how Mennonite settlers shaped community life in southern Ukraine through their building traditions and commitment to public facilities. Visitors can see in its architecture how European styles took root in this region during that era.
The building is visible from outside but can be viewed only at certain times since it serves as a government office today. It is best visited during daytime hours, and visitors should note that access may be limited or affected by ongoing repairs.
