Cape Fear Botanical Garden

Cape Fear Botanical Garden spans 80 acres (32 hectares) between the Cape Fear River and Cross Creek, showcasing regional plant species and educational displays throughout the grounds. The layout combines walking paths with designated learning areas and conservation zones.

Founded in 1989, this space grew from undeveloped land into a regional center focused on environmental learning and plant preservation. The development transformed the location into a key resource for the area.

The garden welcomes visitors Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday from noon to 5 pm, with advance ticket purchase required. The flat terrain and clearly marked paths make it easy to navigate regardless of fitness level.

Inside the grounds sit two indoor buildings: the W.C. English Foundation Grand Hall and the Ralph and Linda Huff Orangery, both used for events and gatherings. These structures offer a sheltered alternative while remaining connected to the garden setting.
