George H. Gallup, founder of the Gallup Poll and pioneer of public opinion research, was born and raised in this house built in 1901.
The residence combines Neoclassical architecture with Queen Anne style elements, representing early 20th-century residential design in the American Midwest.
Located at 703 South Chestnut Street, the property now functions as a venue for overnight stays, business meetings, and special events.
This house was the third and final octagonal structure built by the Gallup family, following two previous octagonal homes in Jefferson.
