Gesu Church

Gesu Church is a Gothic Catholic church in downtown Milwaukee featuring two tall towers and French architectural details throughout its structure. The interior displays a large rose window and extensive stained glass work, with sufficient seating for a substantial congregation.

Architect Henry C. Koch designed this French Gothic structure in 1894, bringing together two former parishes into a single congregation. This building project marked an important moment for the city's Catholic community to unite under one roof.

The church remains closely tied to Marquette University and serves as a spiritual home for students and staff who gather here regularly. Visitors notice how the space brings together people from the neighborhood and the academic community for worship and reflection.
