Calvary Presbyterian Church

Calvary Presbyterian Church is a Gothic Revival house of worship in downtown Milwaukee featuring two prominent towers of different heights. The taller tower rises significantly above the structure and supports a spire, while the shorter tower provides balance to the facade.

The building was constructed in the post-Civil War period and reflects the architectural style of that era. The original design incorporating limestone and brick received an updated appearance over time as exterior surfaces were repainted.

The name references a sacred place associated with prayer and devotion. Visitors today can still walk the indoor prayer labyrinth set into the floor, designed after the pattern found in the Cathedral of Chartres.
