St. James Episcopal Church features limestone walls, tall lancet windows, and a corner tower topped with a broach spire and cross.
The church stands on the former Spring Street Burial Ground, where Milwaukee's first European settlers were laid to rest before 1867.
The structure contains Tiffany stained glass windows and hand-carved monastery panels from the 15th century within its interior spaces.
The building functions as an event venue with two spaces, The Abbey accommodating 250 guests and The Hyde hosting up to 150 people.
During renovations in 1929, workers discovered original headstones within the church structure, confirming the location's cemetery origins.
