Lake Renwick Preserve is a nature reserve near Plainfield covering more than 800 acres of wetlands and open water. A large lake forms the centerpiece, surrounded by natural habitat accessible through trails that loop through the property.
The site developed in the 1980s after mining operations ended and water filled the old excavation pits. Local authorities later acquired the land and transformed it into a protected nature area.
