Lost Island Water Park
Lost Island Water Park is a water park in Waterloo, Iowa, with over 30 different slides, pools, and relaxing areas for all ages. It features fast slides like Molokini Crater and Lost Souls Falls, gentle slides for children, the Tsunami Bay wave pool, and the Kailahi River with waterfalls and tropical plants.
The water park opened in 2001 and has served as a recreation destination for families from the area for about 25 years. Later, the nearby Lost Island Theme Park added five themed realms when it opened in 2022, expanding the attraction options.
The park uses a tropical theme that transports visitors to another place while staying in the Midwest. The palm trees, bright colors, and Hawaiian names like Kailahi River create a relaxed setting that reminds guests of a beach resort and invites them to feel like they are on vacation.
Bring water shoes or sturdy flip-flops since the ground gets hot in the sun, and buy sunscreen that is waterproof. Rent a locker to store your belongings safely while you go on slides and enjoy the attractions.
The Kailahi River, the park's lazy river, was designed to feel relaxing even when many people are floating on tubes, with waterfalls, tropical plants, and music playing throughout the day. The fast Molokini Crater slide is affectionately called the "toilet bowl slide" by visitors because of its funnel shape and intense ride.
