Michigan Legacy Art Park, Sculpture garden and art museum at Crystal Mountain, Michigan, United States.
Michigan Legacy Art Park is a sculpture garden and art museum set across 30 acres of forest with more than 50 outdoor artworks displayed along trails. The pieces are arranged throughout two miles of walking paths that wind through hardwood woodland.
David Barr founded the park in 1995 after receiving the Governor's Michigan Artist Award, creating a dedicated space for contemporary artists. This foundation shaped the site into a lasting venue for artistic expression.
The sculptures here tell stories about Michigan's people, events, and natural resources through the eyes of contemporary artists displayed outdoors. As you walk the trails, you encounter these works and feel connected to the region's identity.
The site is walkable with marked trails through the forest suitable for different fitness levels. An All Access Trail built to ADA standards allows visitors of all abilities to experience portions of the art collection.
The property includes an amphitheater where performances take place among the artworks, blending sculpture and live entertainment. This combination of visual art and performance creates an experience rarely found in outdoor forest settings.
