Milwaukee Country Club, Private golf course in River Hills, Wisconsin.
The Milwaukee Country Club is a private golf course with 18 holes spanning 7077 yards (6472 meters) along the Milwaukee River. The layout features considerable elevation changes and multiple tee positions to accommodate golfers of different skill levels.
The course was designed by Charles H. Alison and opened in 1929, incorporating natural landscape features and strategic bunker placements into the layout. Later modifications by Tom Doak updated the course design for contemporary play.
The club maintains traditional golf practices and hosts social gatherings and formal events in its distinguished clubhouse for members. These spaces reflect the social role the club plays in the local community.
The course layout includes multiple tee positions to accommodate golfers of different abilities, with a slope rating of 136. Visitors should know this is a private facility with restricted access based on membership.
Tom Doak's redesign removed numerous trees to open views of the Milwaukee River from elevated positions throughout the course. This transformation changed the character of the layout and created sight lines that were not previously possible.
