Monroe Invitational, Amateur golf tournament at Monroe Golf Club in Pittsford, United States.
The Monroe Invitational is an amateur golf tournament held at Monroe Golf Club in Pittsford, New York, on a course designed by Donald Ross. The event follows a 72-hole stroke play format across natural terrain with strategically placed hazards.
The tournament was founded in 1937 and grew into a fixture of American amateur golf. In 1998 it switched from match play to stroke play, which changed how competitors approached each round.
The tournament draws college players and young talents who compete within the World Amateur Golf Ranking system. A strong result here can move a player up in the global rankings and open doors to bigger events.
Players are provided with meals during tournament days, and registration takes place at the Vista Ballroom. All key refreshments and services are available on site, so players can focus on their rounds without leaving the club.
In 2013 Nick Palladino became the first Division III player to win the tournament, while attending the University of Rochester. His victory showed that players from smaller college divisions can compete at this level.
