Nassawango Iron Furnace Site

Nassawango Iron Furnace is an industrial site in Snow Hill, Maryland that features a tall brick structure built to produce iron from local ore. The furnace was constructed using regional materials and stands as a substantial remnant of 19th century manufacturing activity.

The furnace was established in 1830 as part of early American iron production efforts in the region and contributed to industrial expansion. The facility was eventually abandoned when economic shifts made local manufacturing less viable to continue.
