Founded in 1994 by Doug Croft and Joe Carroll in Thomasville, the institution relocated to a renovated historic city jail in Kannapolis during 2009.
The museum recognizes performers, producers, industry executives, and educators who have contributed to North Carolina's musical legacy through annual induction ceremonies.
Located at 600 Dale Earnhardt Boulevard, the museum offers free admission during regular business hours and shares its space with the Curb Motorsports collection.
The facility requires inductees to either be born in North Carolina or maintain residence in the state for at least ten years after entering the music industry.
