Shakamak State Park

Shakamak State Park is a nature reserve with three man-made lakes covering about 400 acres of water surface. The lakes provide areas for fishing, swimming, and various other water activities.

The park was established in 1929 and preserves rustic buildings from that era. These historic structures are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Nature Center teaches visitors about the plants and animals living in this area through displays and guided programs. People come here to understand how the local ecosystem works and why it matters.
