Starting as a small mill operation in the 1860s, the site grew into an industrial center manufacturing high-quality woodworking machinery and the Star high-wheeled bicycle.
The district features the Smithville Mansion and Museum, which displays industrial artifacts and offers tours highlighting the region's manufacturing heritage.
Located at 803 Smithville Road in Eastampton, the park maintains operations from Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
The district contained an experimental transportation system called the Smithville-Mt Holly Bicycle Railroad, which used modified bicycles on metal tracks.
